After the winter ashore at Clyde Marina in Ardrossan, SEA FEVER is back in the water, in great shape and ready to go.

Sadly the “Pilgrims” are not in such great shape!   Jo has been advised that she needs surgery for a meningioma (a benign brain tumour) so we have to be available for this in Bristol.   This means that we will not be able to do our original plan this year to sail from the Clyde up the West Coast of Scotland and round to the Moray Firth via Orkney.

But we have decided to start at least part of the West Coast pilgrimage at the end of June, exploring and praying round the coast and islands between the Mull of Kintyre and Arnamurchan Point, staying in contact with Southmead Hospital as we await a surgery date.  This is a great sailing area and packed with ancient Christian sites.  To quote Cruising Scotland “The early Christians certainly liked to retreat to remote and desolate places”!   We shall keep you posted on our progress when we set off at the end of June.

Last week we  took the opportunity for some sailing around the Clyde over the half term holidays, testing both SEA FEVER and ourselves whilst enjoying glorious sailing weather.
